Yakiniku
This was Dad's first attempt at Yakiniku eating and he loved it. Note the dexterity with the chopsticks. (You can tell a real professional when they don't even have to LOOK at what they are doing)
The service in this Yakiniku bar in Kyoto was fantastic. The chef rushed out from the kitchen to direct me to the better but cheaper meat option on the menu (after having ordered the more expensive stuff) and I think the bill at the end was fairly kind too.
I also learned about the different types of Kimchi (Korean pickle) here too.
Overall, a great night. I'll be back with friends next time I'm in Kyoto.
